Justice conciliator office hours

A conciliator is available on the third Tuesday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Bussière-Poitevine town hall.
Appointments can be made by contacting the Bussière-Poitevine town hall secretariat: 05.55.68.40.83.

Scope of extrajudicial conciliation

  • Disputes between individuals:
    Unrepaid personal loans, family quarrels, difficulties in enforcing a contract, etc.
  • Consumer disputes:
    Disputes between a consumer and a professional.
  • Neighbourhood conflicts and disturbances:
    Property boundary issues, noise pollution, etc.
  • Landlord-tenant relations:
    Rent collection, return of security deposits, tenant repairs.
  • Condominium issues:
    Allocation and payment of charges, undertaking repairs, etc.

Prior mediation became mandatory under the Law of November 18, 2016, on the Modernization of 21st-Century Justice, for disputes brought before the District Court for amounts less than €4,000.

    Conciliation has the advantage of reducing the time it takes to resolve disputes.

    The parties themselves seek a resolution to the dispute with the support of the Conciliator.

    Attempting mediation does not preclude taking the matter to court if it fails, possibly with legal representation.

    The agreement drawn up by the Conciliator can be approved by the court. It has the force of a judgment.
